These scholarships are named in honor of Robert B. Cutler, director of the Lehigh Glee Club from 1954-1979, and Steven P. Sametz, Director of Lehigh Choral Arts from 1979 to the present.
These scholarships are supported by a gift given by Anne and Bob Teufel ’59.
Talented singers of any major or minor concentration at Lehigh University are eligible to apply for both of these scholarships that provide $10,000 over 4 years. As a Choral Scholar, recipients must enroll in 8 semesters of University Choir and 4 semesters of Choral Union, Glee Club or Dolce. Choral Arts Scholars also receive 8 semesters of free private vocal instruction. Applicants for the Choral Arts Scholarship must be admitted to Lehigh University through the normal admissions process and, once accepted as a Choral Scholar, maintain at least a 2.8 average at Lehigh University.
Only one application is required to be considered for both the Cutler-Sametz Choral Arts Scholarships and the Teufel Family Vocal Arts Scholarships. For a complete description of the application process and the required forms, please visit the Merit Scholarships Webpage.
