Cutler-Sametz Endowed Choral Arts Scholarships
These scholarships are named in honor of Robert B. Cutler, director of the Lehigh Glee Club from 1954-1979, and Steven P. Sametz, Director of Lehigh Choral Arts from 1979 to the present.
Teufel Family Vocal Arts Scholarships
These scholarships are supported by a gift given by Anne and Bob Teufel ’59.
Talented singers of any major or minor concentration at Lehigh University are eligible to apply for both of these scholarships that provide $10,000 over 4 years. As a Choral Scholar, recipients must enroll in 8 semesters of University Choir and 4 semesters of Choral Union, Glee Club or Dolce. Choral Arts Scholars also receive 8 semesters of free private vocal instruction. Applicants for the Choral Arts Scholarship must be admitted to Lehigh University through the normal admissions process and, once accepted as a Choral Scholar, maintain at least a 2.8 average at Lehigh University.

- Application form for both scholarships (download here)
- Letter describing applicant’s musical background
- Recommendation form completed by a choral director or private voice instructor (download here)
- CD or DVD (Cassettes not accepted)
- Two contrasting Classical selections (no Musical Theatre, please); one song must be in a foreign language.
- Label recording with applicant’s name, voice part, address/phone and the titles and composers of the selections included on the recording
- No electronic submissions – our email system is not equipped to accept them for application.
Finalists will be invited to interview in person after all applications have been reviewed.
