A Child’s Requiem

Lehigh Choral Arts presents Dr. Steven Sametz’s award winning oratorio, A Childs Requiem, dedicated to the memory of those slain at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut in 2012. This powerful new work explores how we can keep children safe in our time.

Also includes Vaughn Williams A Serenade to Music

If  Music Be the Food of Love

The Lehigh University Choir, Glee Club and Dolce present If Music Be the Food of Love, in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. We will present works popular among the Elizabethans, as well as many pieces, old and new, with Shakespearean texts.

Guest artists: The Mock Turtle Marionette Theatre, Ballet Guild of Pennsylvania, and actors from the Department of Theatre.

Brahms Ein Deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem)

Ein deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem) is one of the touchstones of the choral tradition.  This performance is dedicated to the memory of Robert Zoellner, a great friend to the arts at Lehigh.

Also on the program are works for soloists and orchestra:  Mahler’s Lied eines farhendes Gesellen (Song of a Wayfarer) and a new orchestration of Sametz’s The River Merchant’s Wife: A Letter. 

Featuring Jee Hyun Lim, soprano, and Troy Cooke, baritone.
