The Choir Has Landed!

Friday, May 13th, 2011

Greetings from Costa Rica! As I sit here, gorging myself on black beans, chicken and rice for breakfast, I can’t help but reflect on the fact that we’re finally in Costa Rica! Seriously – we’re here. You’re not.

Now that you’ve languished in that for a moment, let me explain – every other year, the University Choir goes on tour for a short while, spreading music and love throughout the world in the way only we can. Two years ago, the Choir shipped off to Portugal (one day we’ll have a gallery for that…), and since then the country’s primary export has changed from cork and port to pure, crystallized music appreciation.

Likewise, we get the chance to engage with a new culture, and – more importantly – we get to blog about it. So, each and every day we’re here, you’ll see a new post like this one pop up all about the amazing things we’re doing here that you can’t, because you’re not in Costa Rica.

So make sure to check back here every day. Or at least tomorrow, because we’re heading to a volcano. An active one. With lava! And even though you’re not here with us (you’re probably nowhere near Costa Rica, which is where we are), we’ll try our best to impart that feeling to you with copious amounts of photos.

Pura vida!
